The Niagara Police are getting a fresh batch of new recruits fresh out of Ontario Police College today (August 6) but their training isn’t over just yet.

The new recruits will now spend an additional four weeks at the NRPS Training Unit, where police say “they are further introduced to scenario-based training to challenge and develop their physical, mental and technical readiness for front-line patrol.”

However, one of those weeks – August 20 to 27 – has to be off-site so the Niagara Police are hunting for a temporary training facility. Ideally, it will be an unused commercial site that the police can use during the daylight hours of the week.

Should any commercial property owners be willing to help out, they are asked to contact Constable Chad Davidson or Constable Ronald Traub of the Training Unit at 905-688-4111, extension #1023400.
