Niagara Police file charges in child pornography case

A 41-year-old man from Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) faces child pornography charges following a police investigation.

The case began in the fall of last year when detectives were assigned to the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit to begin their investigation.

The investigation subsequently led to a raid on a NOTL home this morning (June 23) and has led to the arrest of Chad William Ransome.

He is charged with:

  • Unlawful oossession of child pornography
  • Unlawful access of child pornography

Police say Ransome has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
