Niagara Police charge Welland man after he punched delivery driver, stole pizzas

Niagara Police have arrested a Welland man after a pizza delivery driver was allegedly assaulted and had the pizzas stolen.

The delivery driver, in his 30s, called the police after he said he was assaulted on the doorstep of a house in the Cady Street and Duncan Street area of Welland last night (February 1) at 10:15 pm.

According to police, when the driver arrived with two pizzas worth $19.30, a man came out, “punched him in the face” and went back inside, grabbing the order without paying.

The driver was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Joseph Edward Mills, 35, of Welland has been charged robbery and failing to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody for a video bail in St. Catharines today.
