A planned Niagara Police new conference today got canceled but with good reason.

Originally, the press conference was going to release a 3D facial approximation of a dead but unidentified male found by employees of the Sir Adam Beck Power Generating Station in Niagara-On-The-Lake on December 11th, 2019.

However, when they shared the facial approximation was shared with other police forces, the unidentified man was quickly identified and releasing the information to the public was no longer necessary.

“As a result of further investigation, the identity of the deceased was confirmed through the use of dental records,” said Niagara police .

It turned out to be an open missing person investigation with the Hamilton Police.

Hamilton police say the person was reported missing in 2018 but they did not provide any further information regarding the person’s identity.

Investigators said the next of kin has been notified and at the request of family members, no further information will be provided.

The death is considered non-suspicious.
