As of Thursday (Feb. 10), Niagara Region officially passed the one million vaccination mark.

Team Niagara has now delivered more than one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine,” posted Niagara Region Health yesterday. “Thank you @niagarahealth, pharmacies, primary care providers and volunteers for their continued efforts to #VaccinateNiagara and #StickItToCovid”

With a total population of 480,000, the region has indicated that 83 per cent of the population over five years old are now double-dosed while 87 per cent have had their first jab.

However, since the five-to-11 year olds got off to a late start with their vaccinations beginning in December, the numbers of the vaccinated 18-year-olds-plus is much higher.

At that age range, Niagara is showing more than 90 per cent single-jabbed and higher than 88 per cent fully-vaxxed.
