The Niagara OPP caught two QEW speeders, both 18-years-old, in a three hour span during the early hours this morning (November 2).

At roughly midnight, they stopped the first one after clocking him at 167 km/h. The police say he had a G2 licence “and produced low reading for alcohol on a roadside test.”

According to the OPP, the 18-year-old’s first line of defence when confronted was “I just bought this car!”

Now he will be without his new car for two weeks and have no licence for 30 days after a stunt driving charge, as well as a couple other tickets.

Then just three hours later, they caught another 18-year-old, flying down the highway through Vineland (Lincoln) doing 179 km/h.

Unacceptable life-threatening speed,” said the OPP bluntly. He was charged with stunt-driving.
