While the annual Niagara Grape and Wine Festival has literally dozens of wineries taking part in June, there’s a couple of events during the run held in two specific areas.

The annual TD Tailgate Party is the first with the festivities set for the Palatine Hills Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake (911 Lakeshore Rd) on June 17 from 7 to 10 pm.

The festival, the largest of its kind in Canada, is slated for June 16-18 and June 23-25 and with pandemic restrictions over, it’s looking to be even bigger and better.

“Summer is back, and we’re kicking things off in style with the return of our annual TD Tailgate Party! Grab some boots and head into the heart of wine country to enjoy an all-inclusive evening of food, live music, and – of course – VQA wine,” says the organizers.

“Sample some of the season’s best backyard sippers with classic BBQ-style dishes, and get ready to dance the night away. This is one summer bash you won’t want to miss!”

Closing out the specific events is the Brunch by the Lake on June 25 at Charles Daley Park (1969 N Service Rd) in Lincoln where wine-lovers will take over the 22-acre Lake Ontario park from 11 am to 2 pm and have their say over which wine should win the top pick.

“Dress up in your Sunday best and head to the lakeside for a morning of premium VQA wine, wine-based cocktails, and the return of the Brunch Battle (as) 10 local culinary creators have paired with some of your favourite Niagara wineries to create incredible brunch pairings, and it’s up to you – and our panel of guest judges – to decide on the best of the best,” organizers say.

Tickets for the TD Tailgate Party are $125 plus fees and are available HERE.

Tickets for the Brunch by the Lake are $99 + fees and available HERE.
