Niagara-on-the-Lake collision being investigated after 91-year-old driver’s death

Police are investigating a Niagara-on-the-Lake collision yesterday (Feb. 27) that resulted in the death of a 91-year-old driver.

Police say that at 2:50 p.m., officers responded to a collision on Glendale Ave. at Homer Rd. that involved a senior whose Mini Cooper had collided with a Chevy Blazer.

Bystanders had pulled the senior from his car and were trying to administer CPR to the unresponsive man, before Niagara EMS transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Blazer was unharmed in the collision.

Police are investigating and are asking witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information or dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 3, badge 1009170, with any relevant information.
