While it has been far and away the busiest vaccination centre in the entire region, Niagara Health just announced they will be closing St Catharines’ Seymour-Hannah clinic on August 15.

It will be replaced by a smaller clinic located in the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic at their St. Catharines Site, which will open on August 17 and will serve approximately 200 patients per day.

The new clinic will operate from 8 am to 4 pm seven days a week and will offer both walk-in and booked appointments.

“Thank you to the staff and physicians who helped run this (Seymour-Hannah) clinic as well as those working at the assessment centre and hospital during these challenging times,” says Linda Boich, Executive Vice President of the Niagara COVID-19 Vaccination Task Force.

“It’s been a true team effort to get COVID-19 activity down and vaccinations up, and it is encouraging to be at this point in our careful and gradual recovery. We will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 activity to ensure we are keeping our patients and teams safe.”

By the time it closes on August 15, the Seymour-Hannah clinic will have vaccinated over 250,000 residents, the lion’s share of the 630,000 doses administered throughout the Niagara Region.
