Niagara Health’s Head of Infectious Diseases Dr Karim Ali says a quick look at the vaccination status of the people now in the region’s hospital should be all the incentive anyone needs to get their COVID-19 shots.

After Health Niagara said they’ll be reporting vaccination status of incoming patients if the number of hospitalized people exceeds six, it was revealed that seven Niagara residents were now in local hospital beds.

Of the seven COVID-19 patients, six were unvaccinated.

Presently, none of the seven patients are in the ICU.

Ali suggested the only wave to quell the fourth wave, being fueled in Niagara Region, by the Delta variant, is to get your shots.
