These areas in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls have some of the highest COVID-19 rates in Ontario

Niagara Region has the fourth highest COVID-19 positivity rate in Ontario and two postal codes in the region were among the top ten in the province.

Niagara’s 3.5 per cent positivity rate tied with Windsor-Essex for fourth, while the L2E postal code in Niagara Falls (4th) and the L2W postal code in St. Catharines (7th) were among the highest in Ontario with 8.96 and 8.11 per cent positivity rates, respectively.

Other postal codes in the top 50 include L2V in Thorold (18), L5K in Mississauga (19) and L8E in Hamilton (28) – each of which posted positivity rates higher than five per cent – as well as L2H in Niagara Falls (31), L8G in Hamilton (38), L2G in Niagara Falls (43), L5C in Mississauga (46) and L4X in Mississauga (47).

Ontario’s overall positivity rate was 1.9 per cent, down 0.2 per cent from last week.
