The Whirlpool Aero Car was shipped off to Quebec and completely refurbished over the winter month. It's ready for action again this Friday.

Two of Niagara Parks biggest attractions in and around Niagara Falls is set to open this weekend – the Whirlpool Aero Car and the White Water Walk are opening on Good Friday, April 7.

The Whirlpool Aero Car will be looking sharper than usual as this past winter, it was removed from its tracks and sent to Saint-Jérôme, Québec, to undergo refurbishments to the cable car’s body and mechanical parts.

“The lower section of the Aero Car was restored with brand-new mechanical parts, non-slip floor, roof and fresh paint,” says Niagara Parks. “The iconic yellow arch, designed by renowned Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres-Quevedo was replaced with an identical arch that will extend the life of this historic attraction.”

Throughout the entire refurbishment process, Niagara Parks added, “Meticulous care was taken to ensure the integrity of the stunning original design was preserved.”

Additional openings ahead of the summer season include the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse on May 6, followed by Niagara Parks’ four ticketed heritage sites (Old Fort Erie, Mackenzie Printery, Laura Secord Homestead and McFarland House) on May 20.

These experiences will be ready to welcome guests along with Niagara Parks other sites and attractions that are currently open:

  • Journey Behind the Falls
  • Niagara Parks Power Station + Tunnel
  • Butterfly Conservatory
  • Niagara’s Fury
  • Falls Incline Railway
  • WEGO Green Line
  • Table Rock House Restaurant
  • Niagara City Cruises Voyage to the Falls
  • WildPlay Zipline to the Falls

The White Water Walk is not only great exercise, it also offers a spectacular view of the Niagara River rapids.
