Niagara Falls pair charged for insurance fraud

A Niagara Falls man and woman were charged this morning (Feb. 3) after an insurance company brought forward concerns of fraud to the Niagara Police in November.

The police Central Fraud Unit received a complaint from the insurance company of suspicious benefit claims being processed and submitted by the Niagara Falls pair.

An investigation by the fraud squad discovered that between June 2017 and January 2022, “numerous false insurance claims were submitted for services not rendered, resulting in a significant payout of Canadian currency being fraudulently obtained.”

Joseph Arcuri, 44, of Niagara Falls was charged with fraud over $5,000.

Jessica Roger, 39, of Niagara Falls was also charged with fraud over $5,000.

The pair were released from custody with both are scheduled for a court date on April 28 at the courthouse in St. Catharines.
