Those who live in or travel to Niagara Falls won’t be surprised to hear that the city’s world-famous landmark is considered one of Canada’s top 10 most Instagrammable tourist destinations.

A study by Casino comparison site CasinoBonusCA.com, which analyzed the number of Instagram posts with relevant hashtags for the top 50 tourist destinations in the country, found that social media users are posting millions of pictures of The Falls.

In fact, Niagara Falls is the second most Instagrammable spot in Canada, boasting 6,328,608 posts.

Other destinations rounding out the top five include Old Montreal at number one (22,398,024 Instagram posts containing its hashtags), Whistler-Blackcomb Ski Resort (3,526,920 posts), Old Quebec (2,565,213 posts) and the CN Tower (1,769,780 posts).

Other spots on the list include Vancouver’s Granville Island (819,990 posts), Vancouver’s Stanley Park ( 789,493 posts), Alberta’s Mount Edith Cavell Trail (621,494 posts), the St. Lawrence Market (148,592 posts) and the Icefields Parkway in Alberta (140,754 posts).

“Straddling the border of Ontario, Canada, and New York, United States, Niagara Falls is possibly the most iconic waterfall in the world,” the survey reads.

“Niagara Falls comprises three waterfalls, the most well-known and largest being Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side. There are frequent boat tours of the falls and various other attractions around the falls area.”
