Niagara Falls men busted after gas station robbery and assault

Niagara Police have arrested two Niagara Falls men in connection to a June 7 gas station robbery and assault.

At 7 pm, police were called to the station in the Lundy’s Lane and Carlton Avenue area where a car pulled up and one man got out.

According to police, when he got into the station, he “proceeded to physically assault the store clerk.”

After stealing both cash and “consumable goods,” he bolted out into the waiting getaway car. The clerk suffered minor injuries.

After identifying the suspect vehicle, the police went to the owner’s home where they found both men.

Thomas Ryce, 44, of Niagara Falls is charged with robbery and disguise with intent.

Kenneth Chapman, 56, of Niagara Falls is charged with robbery.

Ryce was held in custody pending a bail hearing yesterday (June 8) via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines and release on an undertaking with a scheduled court appearance on July 5.

Chapman was released from custody on an undertaking with a scheduled court appearance on August 17 in St. Catharines.
