When Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati arrived at work on July 14, he noticed his surroundings looked a little different.
There were pink flamingos propped up everywhere on the City Hall front lawn.

“What the flock?!?!” he exclaimed on Facebook. “Who flocked us by standing these pretty pinks on the front lawn of City Hall this morning?”

Declaring that he was “putting my one foot down and getting to the bottom of this,” he let the cat out of the bag and tipped his hat to the local Wise Girls-Wise Guys Charity group.

The clever charity group has created the “You’ve Been Flocked” campaign, initiated by the ladies’ side, to raise funds for local initiatives. The group gives 100 per cent of all proceeds back to the community.

For a $40 donation, you can send the flamingos to someone’s lawn in the Niagara Region. Removal of them will cost you $20 and for another $10 donation, you can find out who flocked you. (If you’re not the charitable type, the group will remove them for nothing.)

Just the day before, The Wise Girls had flocked the downtown home of St Catharines radio station, MOVE 105.7, surprising the morning co-hosts, Lori and Curtis.
