A Niagara Falls mechanic won $300,000 after noticing the player in line in front of him was playing a lottery he had never tried.

Michel (Mike) Touchette, 61, won the top prize with INSTANT JUMBO CASH due to the fact the guy in front of him was winning small prizes as he played.

Touchette says he usually plays INSTANT tickets and PICK games but that “This was my first time buying this type of ticket.”

“The man ahead of me was playing the same game and had some small wins, so I decided to try something different.”

Initially thinking he had won $3,000, when he realized he won the jackpot he was stunned. “My heart was pounding,” he said. “It’s a great feeling!”

While he plans to keep working for now, he will use his win to prepare for his future retirement, buy a classic car, and help his family and community.

The winning ticket was purchased at Big Bee Convenience & Food Mart on Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.
