Niagara Falls man, Welland woman face numerous drug, weapon charges from Niagara Police

A routine traffic stop in Niagara Falls saw a couple arrested on a large number of drug and firearm charges.

On December 14 just before 1 pm, the police stopped a car in the Dunn Street and Stanley Avenue area and quickly realized the male driver was “failing to comply with his release order” so they arrested him.

A quick search of the car turned up 2.4 grams of fentanyl with a street value of $720 and $3,870 in cash, meaning now the female passenger was on the hook, as well.

Getting a search warrant for their motel room in the same area as the car was pulled over, the police found two firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, scales and drug packaging, drug paraphernalia, and two cell phones.

The total weight of the illegals drugs were 0.4 grams of Fentanyl, 52.2 grams of Cocaine and 68.4 grams of Crystal Meth with a street value estimated at $12,180.

Adam C St Louis, 38, of Niagara Falls was charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possessing crime cash, two counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with, careless storage of a firearm and six counts of failing to comply with release order

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing taking place yesterday.

Alexandra Garbutt, 27, of Welland was charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possessing crime cash, two counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with and careless storage of a firearm.

She was also held in custody pending a bail hearing that was expected to take place yesterday.
