Niagara Falls man stabbed on the sidewalk early this morning

A Niagara Falls man is in the hospital with a serious injury after being stabbed by another man during a conversation today (November 24).

Niagara Police were called to the Clifton Hill near Victoria Avenue area at 1:45 am after hearing a report of a man in his 20’s being stabbed. EMS rushed to the scene to treat him and rush him to the hospital.

It turned out he had stopped on the street to have a conversation with a couple and during the course of that got stabbed.

The police found the knife nearby and quickly identified the suspect. He was arrested at 5 am at his home in the Buchanan Avenue and Spring Street area.

Shawn Leonard Isaacs, 46, of Niagara Falls has been charged with aggravated assault.

He was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines today.
