Niagara Falls man charged with robbing St. Catharines gas station at gunpoint

Niagara Police have charged a Niagara Falls man after a St. Catharines gas station was robbed at gunpoint last Friday.

The police were called to the Shell gas station at 389 Ontario Street around 10:45 pm on January 21 for an armed robbery alert.

A half hour earlier, a man entered the store, waved a gun at the clerk and bolted on foot with some stolen items. The clerk was unharmed.

After an investigation, Niagara Police charged Marcel M. McGrath, 40, of Niagara Falls with:

  • Robbery (Firearm)
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Disguised with intent

He  was held in custody pending a bail hearing that took place on Sunday (January 23).
