Niagara Falls man charged in woman’s abduction and sexual assault

Niagara Police has charged a Niagara Falls man with the abduction and sexual assault on a woman in her 20s.

Just yesterday (July 21), Niagara Police reported that the woman was walking in the Drummond Road area near the Hwy 420 when she was approached on foot by an unknown man, who had been driving a pickup truck.

He subsequently forced her into the truck, took her to an unknown area (believed to be the Chippewa area of Niagara Falls) then physically and sexually assaulted her.

She managed to escape and flagged down a Good Samaritan who drove her to safety in the Frederica Street area in Niagara Falls where she contacted the police.

Today, police to a Niagara Falls where they identified the suspect, as well as the truck used during the offence. He was arrested, and the truck held for forensic examination.

Richard McFarlen Morrow, 23, of Niagara Falls has charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, kidnapping, overcoming resistance and robbery.

He was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the courthouse in St. Catharines today.

However, he investigation is ongoing by detectives because police want to interview the Good Samaritan in the white pickup truck who helped the woman after the assault.
