Things along the Laura Secord Commemorative Trail in the Mewburn Road Recreational Area of Niagara Falls are about to get greener.

The annual TD Tree Days tree planting event is slated for Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a total of 388 native trees and shrubs will be planted across Niagara Falls by volunteers.

“TD Tree Days provides residents the opportunity to volunteer to help build a healthier community by planting trees and shrubs in urban and rural greenspaces,” said the city.

On event day, staff from F45 Fitness will be conducting warm-up exercises in the morning, followed by a tree planting demonstration by members of the City’s Environmental Action Committee.

Volunteers will then start planting trees along the Laura Secord Commemorative Trail at Mewburn Road Recreation Area in Niagara Falls.

Residents who are ready to get some dirt on their clothes can register as a volunteer HERE.
