Niagara Falls’ largest family attraction, Great Wolf Lodge, won the Air Canada Business of the Year Award last night (December 1) at the Tourism Industry Association of Canada in Ottawa.

For the past 22 year, TIAC gives out annual Canadian Tourism Awards in nine categories to reward “the standard of excellence for businesses and organizations in tourism that recognizes success, leadership, and innovation in the industry.”

Said Beth Potter, President and CEO of TIAC, “Each of these winners have proven to have gone above and beyond in offering travellers superior experiences in Canada, and have done so under incredibly trying circumstances.”

Great Wolf Lodge, a waterpark resort with over 100,000 square feet of wild rides, slides and water activities that hosts over 500,000 guests each year, won the Business of the Year which “emplifies the industries best practices in all aspects of its operations.”

Great Wolf Lodge general manager Shannon Allen was on hand at The Westin Ottawa and said, “We couldn’t be more proud of our Wolf Pack. They bring their passion and professionalism to work every day and that’s what makes Great Wolf Lodge such an amazing experience for our guests.”

“To be a part of creating memories for families is a privilege for which we are grateful. We are appreciative of our industry peers and business partners for their contributions in rejuvenating and redefining tourism. We are humbled by this recognition and it is an honour to be considered along-side an astute group of peers.”
