The volume of 911 calls today (October 31) is so high that Niagara Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is warning there will be delays today.

In fact, if your call is not life-threatening or time critical, such as a broken bone, you could be waiting a while, said their post from 4:30 pm.

“Our paramedics and dispatchers are extremely busy with a high volume of 911 calls throughout #Niagara. As a result, there could be a delay for paramedics responding to calls that are not life-threatening or time critical,” Niagara EMS posted on Twitter.

They then “pinned” the tweet, meaning it will remain on the top of any subsequent posts and will be the first items seen on their Twitter account.
