NHL Hall of Famer at Burlington’s Mapleview Centre opening of Sporting Life

NHL Hall of Famer Doug Gilmour will be at Burlington’s Mapleview Shopping Centre Saturday for the grand opening of Sporting Life.

Sporting Life is the leading Canadian sports lifestyle retailer and will be located on the upper level in the north wing of Mapleview.

Gilmour, a Toronto Maple Leaf legend, will be at the centre Saturday, Nov. 12, for a meet and greet and photo opportunities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to mark the opening festivities.

“We’re excited to celebrate Sporting Life’s grand opening at Mapleview with our guests, community and sports fans alongside NHL legend Doug Gilmour,” said Rita Donnelly, general manager of Mapleview.

“Sporting Life is a renowned Canadian retailer and an excellent addition to Mapleview’s fashion and sporting mix.”

The first 100 customers in line at the Sporting Life entrance on Maple Ave. on Saturday will receive a $50 Sporting Life promo card to use toward a $100 purchase. Grand opening promotions also include contests and in-store deals. Sporting Life will be operating special hours for one-day only, opening at 8 a.m.

Sporting Life will occupy 33,000 square feet of space on the upper level of the redeveloped north wing above French sporting goods retailer Decathlon. The Mapleview Sporting Life is the only location west of Etobicoke in the Golden Horseshoe and surrounding area, offering sports enthusiasts in the region an enhanced shopping experience.
