A southern Ontario city will soon be home to a second Walmart Supercentre set to open later this year, the company says.
Walmart Canada says it plans to open a new Supercentre in the southern Ontario city by “late 2025,” making it the second location of the big-box store in Oakville.
The store will feature Walmart’s selection of clothing, housewares, electronics and more, a full grocery department with produce, meat, frozen, dairy and bakery products along with dry grocery goods, and a licensed pharmacy.
And unlike the older location at SmartCentres Oakville, the new store will also feature Walmart’s Hot Kitchen, offering “convenient hot meals for customers on the go,” according to an announcement posted online.
Walmart has begun posting job listings Online for the new location including cashiers, self-checkout attendants, a pharmacy attendant, produce stockers and more.
The new Walmart Supercentre will be where the old Target store used to be in Hopedale Mall, but no official date has been set for the grand-opening
Walmart Canada has more than 400 stores across Canada.
