New Turkish cuisine restaurant opening in Mississauga

A new Turkish cuisine restaurant is opening in Mississauga.

Miss Doner is slated to open soon in a plaza at 2157 Royal Windsor Dr. in Clarkson.

There aren’t many details on the restaurant yet. A Google description lists it as “Turkish style” with “modern doner kebab and salad.”

The Turkish word döner comes from dönmek, which means “to turn” or “to rotate.” Doner is normally meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie.

Slices of meat are shaved off and often stuffed into a pita with vegetables and sauce. It can also be served on plate with a side salad or wrapped in a thin flatbread.

Turkey considers itself the birthplace of the modern döner kebab.

The new restaurant is women-owned, according to the Google listing.

And it is opening right beside a new indoor golf facility, also planning to open soon.
