Commuters can expect expanded GO train service on the Lakeshore East line, starting next week, with six new rush hour trips to and from the Whitby and Oshawa stations.
Beginning October 27, Metrolinx is adding three new morning trips – one leaving from Oshawa GO and two leaving from Whitby GO heading towards Union – and three afternoon trips from Union heading towards Whitby.
New morning trips:
- 6:23 a.m. trip from Oshawa GO arrives at Union Station at 7:27 a.m., making all stops.
- 6:48 a.m. trip from Whitby GO arrives at Union Station at 7:47 a.m., making all stops.
- 7:48 a.m. trip from Whitby GO arrives at Union Station at 8:47 a.m., making all stops.
New afternoon trips:
- New 4:13 p.m. trip from Union arrives at Whitby GO at 5:10 p.m., making all stops.
New 4:43 p.m. trip from Union arrives at Whitby GO at 5:40 p.m., making all stops. - New 5:13 p.m. trip from Union arrives at Whitby GO at 6:10 p.m., making all stops.

Other GO train service enhancements starting Oct. 27 include Lakeshore West (more service to Niagara Falls, new Confederation GO service and six select trips to and from Oakville GO will be extended to serve Appleby GO in Burlington);
Barrie Line (two new rush hour trips between Aurora GO and Union Station); and
Stouffville Line (two new rush hour trips between Unionville GO and Union Station).
