Several weeks after construction wrapped up, a highly anticipated Tim Hortons is celebrating its grand opening.
This week, Pickering Mayor Kevin Ashe and Councillor David Pickles both took to social media to acknowledge the grand opening of a brand new Tim Hortons inside the Pickering GO Station (1306 Bayly St).

“A great addition to our GO station at this morning’s grand opening,” Pickles wrote on social media, sharing multiple pictures of the event.
The grand opening, also acknowledged by Invest Pickering, the city’s economic development and strategic projects department, was lauded as an additional perk for commuters hoping to grab a coffee or treat before boarding their train.
Construction on the Tim Hortons location was completed earlier this year.
The new opening featured balloons, coffee (of course), Timbits (naturally) and two unique mascots–a friendly bear and a giant, human-sized Tims coffee cup.
Congratulations to the newest @TimHortons location, located right at the Pickering GO Station! Commuters can now pick up their coffee right from the station during their morning ride. ☕🍩 pic.twitter.com/fIckjcNUmv

Ashe thanked the team behind the opening for their work on the newest cafe.
“Big congratulations to Chantal and the team on the opening of Tim Hortons at Pickering GO Station. A welcome addition for commuters and our community,” Ashe wrote on social media.
Tim Hortons, which operates close to 4,000 locations across Canada, is known for its coffee, doughnuts, bagels, sandwiches and other treats.
The newest opening has generated some positive feedback.
“Long overdue. Glad to see some kind of food & drink option back in the GO station,” a poster wrote on Facebook.
The new location is open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m., seven days a week.
