Expect to see new signs around Halton Hills that welcome tourists to town.

The signs will come thanks to a grant from the Government of Canada from a fund geared toward supporting tourism with the expectation that it will help drive customers to local businesses.

Halton Hills will receive $17,500 to create and install the signs that are expected to be in place within the year.

Announced by Lloyd Longfield, MP for Guelph at a news conference today, the funding comes by way of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

“Community spaces and tourist attractions are what make our communities the important gathering places they are. Government of Canada investments are helping enhance existing community infrastructure and events across the region, boosting jobs and revenue across southern Ontario,” said Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario in a statement released about the funding.
