New restaurant’s fresh menu brings international flavour to Oakville

To bring alive the flavours of traditional street food from India is the goal of the operators of Chai Pani, one of Oakville’s newest restaurants.

Chai Pani literally means “tea and water” but the slang expression could mean many things, and in the food context it describes that ability to buy small food and drinks, the kind you would find if wandering the streets of Mumbai or Dehi.

From its location at 2501 Third Line, Chai Pani promises local freshness with its ingredients each day to bring out the true flavours that lovers of Indian food expect.

Specialties that are served each day include railway cutlets, dahi batata puri, sev puri toast, paneer tikka pizza and pav bhaaji, among other dishes.

While the eatery has been open only for a short time, customers are already weighing in with positive reviews:

“Awesome awesome awesome. Loved everything starting from cheese pizza, pav bhaji, vada pav, aloo tiki burger, mango kulfi and malai kulfi.I will definitely come again. My little one loved the cheese pizza. They should start the frequent flyer program for their regulars,” said one customer.

And another.

“Finally we have a great Desi street food place in Oakville. Been yearning for something like this for long. Prices are reasonable for some items and slightly higher for many other items, but found the quality to be great. Quantity is decent as well.”

Chani Pani is open for dining out and also for take-out. You can also order from their online menu.
