New restaurant to open in closed bistro space in Mississauga

It appears a new restaurant is moving into a space once home to an upscale bistro in Mississauga.

The highly anticipated Japanese fusion restaurant, Bonsai Asian Bistro & Bar, opened in December 2021, but abruptly closed this summer.

Bonsai Asian Bistro & Bar at 60 Lakeshore Rd. E. was in the works for several years, and once it opened got rave reviews.

The place boasted a street-side patio and elegant interior. There was no word on why it closed.

And now it appears a new restaurant is slated to open soon in the space.

This time the venture is a Thai restaurant and bar called Hello Bangkok, according to a post on Instagram.

But there are no other details on the new restaurant yet — the post just says “coming soon.”

So we will have to stay tuned.
