New restaurant opens in location of favourite Mississauga eatery

A new restaurant and bar has replaced a popular eatery in Mississauga.
Awara Cuisine and Cocktails officially opened this month at 231 Lakeshore Rd. E. in Port Credit.
The new restaurant is in the location of Bar Catalina, which was known for its authentic Spanish cuisine. The restaurant closed on Dec. 23.
Awara boasts a full menu of Indian cuisine, including classics like tandoori chicken tikka, palak paneer, curries and biryani.
There are interesting starters such as tandoori dumplings, aloo tikki sliders and honey chilli potatoes.
A full drinks menu has mocktails, fancy cocktails and cocktails based on astrological signs. The Pisces’s Secret Spice, for example, includes peach schnapps, orange juice, vodka, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, grenadine and lime juice.

The place is already getting great reviews.
“The culinary experience was exceptional, particularly the biryani dish. The establishment boasts an impressive ambiance, complemented by highly courteous and professional staff,” one person wrote on Google Reviews.
“Delicious food with authentic Indian flavours that delight the taste buds!” another person wrote.
