New reading deck now open in Acton

The Halton Hills Public Library has opened up a new reading deck at the Acton Branch.
The Acton Reading Deck is an outdoor space where residents can sit, read a book, meet with friends, play, participate in programs or just enjoy nature.
While the reading deck for the Acton Branch was included in the original 2009 design for the building, it was later removed from the final design in 2010 due to unexpected costs.
Since the Acton Branch opened in 2011, the community has raised almost $22,000 of the expected $66,000 cost and the reading deck was eventually approved as part of the 2018 Capital Budget.
