From health and wellness to education and employment services, the city is searching for groups to help the next generation of Brampton with programs at the Susan Fennell Youth Hub.
Designed as a space where teens and young adults unwind with activities and pursue opportunities for personal growth, the city opened its first Youth Hub at Brampton’s Susan Fennell Sportsplex last year which includes a multimedia suite with creator tools for video and music production, an Esports lounge for gamers, and a lounge for youth to hang out and connect.
The hub is for youth between the ages of 14 and 29 years old and aims to empower young people through services supporting their health, well-being and future success, and the city is looking for partners to help with putting on programs.
The inclusive space for Brampton’s youth includes access to recreation, employment and career services, mental health support and much more.
“These programs should focus on providing health and wellness services, social services, education, employment and career services and youth leadership opportunities,” the city said in a statement.
Groups and organizations interested in providing programming at the Youth Hub can submit proposals to the city by Oct. 10. The city says submission should align with the Youth Hub’s goal “of developing and empowering Brampton’s youth.”
There will be two information sessions for organizations hosted by the city on Wednesday and Thursday, giving organizations an opportunity to tour the facility, meet with staff and learn more about the space and the application process.
