The design process for a new parkette in Georgetown is currently underway and the Town of Halton Hills is seeking community feedback as a result.

The new parkette, which will be called Mill Street Parkette, is set to be built later this year.

To help with the design process, the Town of Halton Hills is inviting residents to take a preliminary survey to provide feedback on the elements and activities that they would like to have included in the new parkette.

A total of four preliminary concepts have been developed, each of which offer examples of the possible layout and potential features.

“We are interested in knowing how you use existing Town parks as well as the types of features you would like to see incorporated within the parkette, so that we may create a park that suits the neighbourhood’s preferences,” reads the Town of Halton Hills’ website.

The preliminary survey will close on Apr. 30.

Once feedback has been received, the Town will use the neighbourhood’s preferences to create a single preferred concept before having another round of consultation sharing to gather additional feedback.

The Town will then finalize the design and construction will begin in the fall.
