MELT ”wich” food co. is the reincarnated Melt Grilled Cheese which recently reopened its doors in Streetsville.

Melt Grilled Cheese was a late night resto specializing in grilled cheese that also offered poutine, soups, salads, milkshakes and ice cream. It opened its doors in June 2014 and in less than a year and a half later – it suddenly closed.

Good news for the grilled cheese aficionados, MELT ”wich” food co. is a very similar concept to Melt Grilled Cheese with the exception of a few minute changes in the grilled cheese and poutine part of the menu, higher prices and the addition of burgers and wraps to the menu.

Unique for: Dressed-up grilled cheese sandwiches.

The Menu: There are nine different grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu, some of which include Good Morning Melt (cheddar, mozzarella, egg, tater tots, garlic mayo), Bacon Avocado (cheddar, mozzarella, bacon, smashed avocado, red onion, spinach, chipotle sauce), The Godfather (provolone, chicken, herbed tomato, prosciutto, pesto, spinach, balsamic glaze, roasted red peppers), and Mac Attack (mac n cheese, bacon, garlic mayo, ketchup, cheddar and mozzarella). The cheese variety is limited to cheddar, mozzarella, herbed cream cheese and provolone.

The Godfather – (provolone, chicken, herbed tomato, prosciutto, pesto, spinach, balsamic glaze, roasted red peppers)

The poutine portion has of course a classic poutine plus five other varieties such as The Backstabber (crispy chicken, bacon bits, herbed tomato, garlic mayo), Bacon Cheeseburger (Philly steak, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese) and others.

The new burgers section of the menu has a total of five burgers. The Monster Melt is a homemade burger topped with 4 slices of bacon, mac n cheese, served between grilled cheese buns.

The wraps are another addition to the new menu concept. It includes five different kinds such as the Chicken N Cheese Wrap (cheddar, mozzarella, chicken, fried onions, tomatoes, chipotle sauce) and more.

The hand spun milk shakes and ice cream (available at participating locations) are available in a variety of flavours.
