Corner is a new cafe which combines a casual dining experience in a contemporary designed space and offers a global menu that caters to a wide variety of palates.

The concept, by Spoon & Fork, is the brand’s first quick-service restaurant. The popular brand is a family run business, well known for their contribution to the Asian restaurant scene having started their first Japanese restaurant called Prince Japanese Steakhouse back in 1996.

Corner caters to a wide variety of people through the design of the space, seating variety and most especially the menu which features both Asian and European options and it’s licensed to sell liquor.

Corner is located on along Dundas near Dixie in a space which had to be rezoned, gutted and completely renovated. The large but cozy space includes a lounge area by a fireplace, a high top communal table, booth seating and tables throughout the resto.

It’s an ideal spot to hang out with friends and family and with 120 seats it makes it easy to cater to larger groups. For the road warriors and work-from-home types, the free wifi and multi-ethnic menu make it a great spot to get some work done.

Food Menu: Corner’s Asian and European menu includes a wide variety of options that include freshly baked pastries (croissants, scones, muffins, brownies, donuts, danishes, cinnamon buns); desserts (French macarons, tarts, cupcakes, cakes); all day breakfast (benedicts, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, french toast); sushi trays (made fresh daily and on-site).

The Corner Bakes section of the menu includes Italian dishes and pasta (mac & cheese, lasagna, chicken alfredo, spaghettini pomodoro/Bolognese/meatball, seared pork chop, chicken parmesan, peppercorn beef).

The Mum Bowl is a fun Thai-inspired menu where you can mix and match over 50 different ingredient options to create your own personalized dish. Mum is a Thai word which translates to corner. You can choose a base for your bowl from rice, noodles, cous cous, and quinoa. The next step is a choice of four veggies which include sweet potatoes, green beans, edamame, squash, corn, beets, and more. Followed by your choice of protein such as chili chicken, Szechuan tofu, lemongrass chicken, steamed fish, Thai crispy shrimp, Tom Yum seafood, Mum bowl chicken or beef. You can top your bowl off with Thai based sauces including red curry, peppercorn, pad Thai, green curry, teriyaki and mango. Lastly, there are a number of garnishes such as garlic, basil, onions, sesame seeds and more to finish off the bowl.

Drink Menu: Coffee, tea, espresso based drinks, juice, beer and wine.

Spoon and Fork brand of restaurants is a Canadian, family run business by Mississauga entrepreneurs which dates back to 1996. Fast-forward to now and they have ten restaurants under the brand which fall under 1 of 5 different resto concepts. The company has evolved over the years from a Japanese menu to now include Thai, Vietnamese, Italian and/or Mediterranean cuisine at their restaurants (Prince Japanese Steakhouse, Spoon & Fork, Prince Sushi, JJ Japanese Thai, Spoon & Fork Plus, Corner) with locations in Mississauga and across the GTA.
