New Opening: Popular Bubble Tea chain comes to St. Catharines

If you enjoy Bubble Tea – and its fans seem to be growing exponentially by the day – you should be happy to hear that a well-known bubble tea shop had its ‘soft opening’ in St. Catharines yesterday (January 24).
Gong Cha, which opened its doors at 100 Fourth Ave, Unit 8, is a popular bubble tea joint with locations all around southwestern Ontario.
Bubble tea (also known as pearl milk tea, bubble milk tea, tapioca milk tea) is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. It most commonly consists of tea accompanied by chewy tapioca balls but can be made with other toppings as well.
“We’re berry pleased to announce our NEW St. Catharine’s location is now open!” they announced on Instagram yesterday. “Stop by their soft launch and try our new Strawberry & Earl Grey series! Stay tuned for more info about their Grand Opening.”

Gong Cha was originally established in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and it now has locations worldwide. The shop has an extensive range of drinks that use real fruit purees and teas are brewed every four hours for optimal flavour.
The menu features Gong Cha’s creative mix series, milk foam series and seasonal drinks. They also offer original brewed teas, milk tea series and coffee series.
The shop is open from Tuesday through Saturday from noon to midnight, Sunday and Monday from noon to 10 pm.
