A new Moroccan restaurant offering authentic street food has just opened in Mississauga.

Morocco’s Kitchen opened at 3460 Platinum Dr., unit 24 in Erin Mills in April.

The restaurant serves classics such as chicken bastilla — a thin pastry stuffed with chicken and almonds with Moroccan seasonings.

Other appetizers include harrira soup, zalook (an eggplant and tomato dip), and Moroccan-inspired samosas.

Main dishes are made with traditional Moroccan flavours and include lamb, chicken or veggie couscous, and lamb or chicken tagine (slow cooked meat in a clay pot).

The are also sandwiches such as the saffron chicken sandwich or a chopped cheese sandwich.

Riffi bowls feature grilled and marinated meats served on fries and lettuce.

For those with a sweet tooth, Moroccan sfenj is on the menu. Sfenj is a fried pastry that’s crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.

And, of course, there is the classic Moroccan mint tea to top off the meal.
