A new Montessori school just opened up in the Town of Milton.

This past weekend, the grand opening of Angus Valley Montessori (AVM) school took place at the Milton Mall.

Mayor Gordon Krantz and Town Councillors, including Mike Cluett, were in attendance to cut the ribbon, along with several other members of the school community.

The new school is located in the heart of Milton at 55 Ontario St. S in the revitalized Milton Mall, making it close to the GO station and 401.

The space, which is 9,500+ sq ft in size, has a custom-built interior with a total of eight classrooms.

“We wish to provide our community with a unique experience, to have their children learn and grow in a hands-on environment filled with excitement and enriched unending discovery,” reads AVM’s website.

“We believe in the Montessori theory of hands-on learning, one-on-one guidance, fostering self-discipline and self-sufficiency – even with the youngest of children. We hope the children under our care will flourish with self-confidence, independence, social skills and form a foundation that will enable them to be successful throughout their lives.”

The new school will offer infant, pre-casa, casa, school-age and before and after school care.
