If you’ve been searching for a new restaurant where you can kick back with friends and watch the big game or enjoy a weekend brunch buffet, then look no further.

The Green Goose Pub & Grill, which recently opened at 5165 Dixie Road, is a brand new Irish pub that offers something for everyone, especially sports fans – and if you’re looking to enjoy some delicious Irish cuisine, the pub’s large and varied menu doesn’t disappoint.

New customers are invited to try some of The Green Goose’s favourite dishes, such as their bangers and mash, stuffed Yorkshire pudding (a mini Yorkshire bowl stuffed with roast beef and mashed potatoes and then smothered with gravy) and Irish nachos: Deep fried waffle fries with chili, mixed cheese, sour cream, chives, and traditional Irish seasoning.

Pie lovers also won’t find themselves starved for choice with a selection of chicken pot pie, steak pie, and shepherd’s pie on the menu.

Dessert options include New York cheesecake, apple crumble, and crème brûlée.

While the Green Goose’s menu offers affordable prices, customers who want a little more bang for their buck will be pleased to know that, starting Saturday, May 18, the restaurant will be offering a brunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays for only $7.49 (kids 10 years old and under eat free!).

Available from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the weekend buffet will include classic breakfast items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, slices of white/whole wheat bread, and home fries.

Aside from the food, some of the pub’s most attractive qualities are its excellent service and cozy interior. The restaurant boasts a semi-private lounge area as well as a full fledged sports bar with 15 large screen TVs.

While most other sports bars and restaurants play music in the background, The Green Goose ensures that patrons can both watch and hear the game, making it the ideal spot for sports fans.

However, if you do want to listen to some live music while you enjoy your food, preparations are underway to have a local band play classical rock once a week — the restaurant will be confirming dates and further details soon, so keep an eye out.

The pub is open late every day of the week, opening at 11:00 a.m. and closing at midnight from Sunday to Wednesday and 1:00 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The owners of The Green Goose say they have a combined 15 years of experience in the restaurant business and are committed to providing great food and great service.

Residents who are interested in checking it out for the first time may want to take advantage of the restaurant’s grand opening event, which will be held on Friday, May 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. During that time, all customers will receive 15% off their purchase!
