Some Milton students will be going to a brand new school when they head back to classes next week…but it will not be their permanent home.

The yet-to-be-named school (which is currently just known as Milton #10) will be a holding facility until contraction on St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School is completed. Milton #10 is located at 675 Kennedy Circle W.

Once the St. Kateri Tekakwitha students move to their permanent base Milton #10 will eventually become a junior kindergarten to Grade 8 school.

“The completion of the new Milton #10 Catholic Elementary School is exciting news for our community as we continue to support new, modern schools for students in Milton,” says MPP Parm Gill. “We will continue to work hard for the families and students of Milton.”

Recent government spending will see nine new schools built in the growing Milton over the next several years as well as expansions at five existing schools.

St. Kateri Tekakwitha will be located at Louis St. Laurent Ave. and Kennedy Circle E. in Milton. It is expected to open at some point during the upcoming school year and will accommodate more than 1,500 students.
