A new Mediterranean restaurant, offering Halal dishes inspired by the food of Egypt, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Morocco and beyond, just opened in Mississauga.

Calle Cuisine Mediterranean Fusion, at 6277 Mississauga Rd. (formerly a KFC) in the Streetsville area, celebrated their grand opening on the weekend.

The new eatery has homemade bread and pitas, along with tapas-style Mediterranean dishes.

The menu boasts hearty sandwiches with fillings such as Romesco chicken, kofta, sausages, and vegetarian crispy fava bean patties. There is also peri peri chicken, hummus starters and seafood dishes.

Desserts include tiramisu and mango and Nutella konafa cups.

The restaurant features artistic Mediterranean backdrops for dining in but a drive-through service will also be available for quick, on-the-go Halal and Mediterranean cuisine options.
