If it was up to Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, the eventual on-ramp from Tremaine Rd. to Hwy. 401 would already be built.

But he knows there are plenty of people who will have some input into that decision.

“In my opinion, it could be ready pretty well any time,” he told insauga.com publisher Khaled Iwamura in an exclusive interview on Instagram.

“I know the Ministry of Transportation is the one that dictates when that is going to happen, and the Region of Halton plays an important role in that.”

Krantz said a lot of the work at the intersection is already complete.

“The work is pretty much done on Tremaine Rd. and, as far as my knowledge, on the 401 itself.”

He also said the Town of Milton is spending more than $30 million on the reconstruction of local roads.

“If you don’t keep up with your infrastructure, your roads, bridges and sidewalks, you can run into problems. We’ve always been proactive when it comes to that.”
