A few years ago, the idea of ordering all your favourite restaurant meals to your door was unheard of.

Now, it’s not only a reality, but it’s incredibly affordable to do so.

foodora, one of the top on-demand food delivery services in Canada, just launched in Mississauga this past May and is providing new customers with an enviable promotion, which includes free delivery, that will allow them to order from their favourite restaurants for less.

There’s also a special promotion exclusively for insauga.com readers.

That’s right, a unique $10 off promotion will be available for inSauga readers for their first order. The code has an order minimum of $20 and will expire at the end of September.

The code is easy enough to remember, too: FOODORAINSAUGA.

To use the promo, download the app to your smartphone by visiting the Apple Store or Google Play.

foodora, which is available in nine cities across Canada (including Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal), isn’t quite like the other food delivery services in the city.

“foodora strives to deliver good, quality food to consumers in their everyday lives,” says David Albert, Managing Director, foodora Canada . “foodora does the majority of its service in core areas of Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver with bike couriers. We care about the environment and sustainability and that is showcased through our recent launch of the global sustainability program, in addition to our bike courier fleet.”

Beyond being environmentally responsible, foodora also refrains from imposing surge pricing (meaning higher prices during peak delivery periods) on customers who want to order food during normal dinner hours.

“We don’t have surge-pricing and it’s one of the things that sets us apart from our competitors. says Albert.

Customers should note that orders typically have a minimum order value $15.00. foodora also boasts reasonable delivery fees that are lower than those offered by competing brands.

In terms of tipping, foodora encourages customers to tip whatever they believe to be appropriate.

While foodora is already incredibly convenient for anyone who wants to order from the 60+ restaurants it works with – restaurants that include health food favourite Basil Box and beloved themed burger joint The Burger’s Priest – it is also offering free delivery for a limited time only.

Yes, that’s right – foodora is offering free delivery for all customers and on all orders until the end of August.

As for foodora’s delivery zone, you can access the service if you live within the grey boundaries in the following map:

As of now, foodora services customers who live in between Lakeshore in the south and the 407 in the north. The service also recently expanded to include the growing Erin Mills community.

foodora is available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
