Plans for a new multi-building highrise complex could bring more than 1,800 new units to Brampton.

The City has received an application to redevelop the plaza at 1 Steeles Ave. East to build three, highrise mixed-use towers and one midrise mixed-use building in Brampton’s Fletcher’s Creek South neighbourhood.

The project is being designed by architects BDP Quadrangle for developer Kaneff and could see 50, 40, 30 and 11-storey highrises built on the southeast corner of Steeles Ave. and Hurontario St.

The highrises could bring more than 1,800 new rental units to the city.

The development application is in the pre-consultation phase and would back onto the Peel Village Golf Course. The plaza is owned by Kaneff and tenants include KFC, Hakim Optical, and Chuck’s Roadhouse.
