Downtown milton christmas holiday season

Downtown Milton is a little brighter this holiday season thanks to a new installation of street lights.

The lights resembling giant snowflakes can be found lighting the way along Main St. E.

The new installation comes by way of an Ontario government grant worth $73,000 which will also be used for other activities that will be presented by the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (BIA).

“Beautiful new ‘Snow Spark’ light displays are now in place along Main Street East in Milton’s historic downtown,” reads a message by the BIA posted online. “Shoppers, diners and visitors will enjoy the warm, welcoming atmosphere no matter the temperature outside!”

As well as the lights the BIA is also presenting the Winter Twinkle Express on Dec, 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Dec. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. where free miniature train rides will be available.

Throughout the activities, cash donations will be accepted at various downtown locations and times that will go towards the Women’s Centre of Halton and the Miracle on Main Street toy drive.
