New Farm Boy opens this week in southern Ontario

A new Farm Boy grocery store is set to open in Ontario this week.

It will be located at 39 Huron Street in Collingwood.

The store, which will be the 52nd Farm Boy location in Ontario, will open on Thursday.

Grand opening celebrations will last until Saturday and will feature product samples, giveaways, games, and more, the company said.

The location was previously a Sobeys and Farm Boy said that several employees who worked at the Sobeys will be returning to the new store.

“By retaining valued local employees, Farm Boy is building on existing relationships and reinforcing its commitment to being a welcoming neighbourhood grocer in Collingwood,” the company said.

A hyper-local area offering a selection of products from vendors in the local community will be among the store’s features, Farm Boy said.

Farm Boy was founded in Cornwall in 1981.
