A new express bus route will help commuters and students travelling between Mississauga and Toronto.

The new Route 126 Burnhamthorpe Express will run between the University of Toronto Mississauga and the Kipling Bus Terminal, next to Kipling TTC station in Toronto, MiWay says in a post on their website.

The new route will start on Sept. 3, just in time for the new school year.

The route will make several key stops between the University of Toronto Mississauga and the Kipling Bus Terminal, on Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga and Dundas Street in Toronto.

This weekday route will operate every 16-17 minutes during the morning and afternoon peak periods.

The new express route will complement the existing Route 26 Burnhamthorpe service, which will have improved weekday and weekend service frequencies.

With the introduction of the Route 126 Burnhamthorpe Express, Route 76 Burnhamthorpe will be cancelled due to service duplication.

Due to increased ridership demand, several routes will offer improved service starting Sept. 2:

  • 5 Dixie (weekdays)
  • 26 Burnhamthorpe (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 35 Eglinton (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 42 Derry (Saturday and Sunday)
  • 43 Matheson (weekdays)
  • 44 Mississauga Road (weekdays)
  • 110 University Express (weekdays)

The 87 Skymark will also be cancelled as of Sept. 2 due to service duplication with other routes.
